OPERATION VICTORY
SUPPORTING INCARCERATED VETERANS THROUGH REENTRY
Operation Victory is Damascus’s dedicated program for incarcerated veterans, providing support before and after release as they prepare to return to their families, communities, and society.
The program focuses on helping veterans develop the skills and mindset needed for a successful transition from the institutional environment. Through trauma informed programming, evidence based CBT, character development, prosocial skill development, and volunteer based mentorship, Operation Victory supports veterans throughout their reentry journey.
Post release mentorship is an important part of the program, helping veterans continue receiving encouragement, accountability, and connection after they leave prison.
DAMASCUS REENTRY
PREPARING MEN FOR LIFE BEYOND INCARCERATION
Damascus Reentry provides pre and post release services designed to help incarcerated individuals prepare for a successful transition from an institutional setting back into family and social life.
The program addresses the challenges that can affect successful reentry, including trauma, abuse, mental health, anger, social skills, parenting, job skill development, and addiction and recovery.
Through trauma informed programming, evidence based CBT, prosocial skill development, character development, and volunteer mentorship, Damascus Reentry helps participants prepare for productive lives beyond incarceration.
LEGACY PROJECT
BUILDING LEADERS AND CHANGING PRISON CULTURE
The Legacy Project focuses on leadership and character development within the prison environment, creating opportunities for positive change among incarcerated individuals and the broader prison community.
Through leadership focused programming and the development of prosocial and character based skills, the Legacy Project supports healthier behaviors, stronger decision making, and a culture that encourages personal responsibility.
The goal is to help create positive change inside the institution while giving participants skills that can continue to influence their lives beyond incarceration.
POST RELEASE MENTORING
WALKING WITH MEN AFTER RELEASE
Post Release Mentoring extends the Damascus mission beyond the prison gates. Volunteer mentors continue walking alongside returning citizens as they navigate the challenges of rebuilding their lives after incarceration.
The transition back into society can involve family relationships, employment, social skills, addiction and recovery, and adjusting to life outside the institutional environment. Consistent mentorship provides encouragement, accountability, and a positive relationship during this important transition.
Volunteer mentoring is one of the ways Damascus creates continuity between preparation inside prison and life after release. The organization also works with veterans and outside support groups to strengthen the network available to returning citizens.
